5:26Now PlayingConservative Leader Pierre Poilievre recently released a 15-minute video blaming Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his policies for Canada’s housing crisis. CBC News asked two housing experts what they thought Poilievre’s video got right and what it missed.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this video incorrectly referred to average monthly mortgage costs when evaluating the Conservative Party's claim that it takes "66 per cent of the average monthly income to make payments on the average single-detached Canadian house." In fact, the Conservative video's claim refers to median income and home ownership costs, which includes property taxes, utilities and other costs associated with owning a home.
