So much so, the Public Health Agency of Canada concluded in a recent risk assessment that the country could lose its measles elimination status, which it has maintained since 1998. Case counts are highest in Ontario and Alberta. In Alberta, a law professor says political forces rooted in the pandemic are shaping the government’s “reluctant” response to today’s health crisis.
