YouTube Description
as posted by the channelCanada’s digital services tax has been an ongoing bone of contention between the U.S. and Canada, so why is U.S. President Donald Trump bringing it up now?
The tax is set to take effect June 30 and would apply retroactively, leaving U.S. companies with a $2-billion US bill due at the end of the month. International trade lawyer William Pellerin says he is surprised it took this long for the U.S. to highlight its gripe, as Canada and the U.S. are locked in negotiations to lift tariffs on Canadian goods.
