1:38Now PlayingAnimation released by the European Space Agency, including images captured by the Hubble Space Telescope and other telescopes in space and on the ground, shows the collision of two distant galaxies. Light from the collision would be too dim to see, but is magnified and brightened when it passes through another galaxy, which deflects the light due to its strong gravity -- an effect called gravitational lensing.
