Witness testimony continued Wednesday in the murder trial for Alex Murdaugh, a disgraced South Carolina attorney accused of killing his wife, Maggie, and their son, Paul, in June 2021. The day began with Judge Clifton Newman rejecting a prosecution's request to present evidence of Murdaugh's alleged attempt to plan his own death three months after the murders. Newman later reversed his decision, saying the defense attorney's questioning opened the door for such testimony. Prosecutors also played video of an interview police had with Murdaugh in August 2021. Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty.
