This is a major victory for Wolf PAC and the campaign to get money out of politics. Texas State Rep. Lon Burman (D) from District 90 in Fort Worth Texas is introducing a resolution calling for a constitutional convention to overturn Citizens United and get an amendment to remove money from politics.
This real action happening in Texas is in part due to the efforts of Wolf-PAC member Todd Jagger who took the initiative to talk to representatives about getting money out of politics. Thankfully, Burman listened. This is not a guaranteed win, and it is no doubt a long wrong. But, this is a real opportunity and a real indicator that change is possible. The corrupting power of money has turned politics upside down, making politicians loyal to their donors instead of the constituents they should be representing.
The resolution is called HRC-25, and it needs our support. We need to show that it deserves co-sponsors, that it should be introduced for a vote.
