Psorophora ciliata, commonly known as gallinippers, can grow up to 20 times the size of an average mosquito. They lay their eggs at the edges of flood-prone areas, where they can lay dormant for years until the eggs are saturated by heavy rains."*
The "gallinipper" is an enormous mosquito that leaves painful, if not disease-spreading bites. It looks like they're descending on Florida soon too. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian discuss the mosquitos, which Ana is horribly afraid of.
