1:31Now Playing"For years U.S. and Israeli manufacturers have dominated the military drone manufacturing business, but that may change. Seven EU countries have stated that they want to begin making their own drones, rather than relying on imports from the U.S. and Israel.
One report notes "French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the European Defense Agency has been tasked with drawing up a list of military requirements, with the ultimate goal of creating a 'European generation' of drones within 10 years."
Spending on drones is expected to grow at a rapid pace over the next decade from current expenditures of $5.2 billion annually to $11.6 billion, ultimately totaling just over $89 billion in the next ten years."* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur breaks it down.
