The proposed law, which would allow businesses to discriminate against LGBT individuals because of religious views, currently sits on Republican Gov. Jan Brewer's desk awaiting approval. Plenty of big-name Republicans have distanced themselves from the law, urging the governor to veto it; while many social conservatives argue the law is necessary to protect religious business owners from being forced to serve customers against their religious conscious...* Even Arizona State Senator Steve Pierce (R) who originally voted for the legislation is now pretending he had no idea it was discriminatory.
