4:14Now Playing"Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta ’s memoir came out Tuesday, making the one-time Cabinet member the latest Obama administration veteran to criticize the president’s foreign policy.
Mr. Panetta’s book, at more than 500 pages, goes through his history with President Barack Obama on Iraq, Syria and other national security challenges, leading the former Pentagon chief to praise Mr. Obama’s intellect, while faulting his decision-making.
Mr. Panetta wrote in “Worthy Fights: A Memoir of Leadership in War and Peace” that one of those issues, budget fights with Congress, showed Mr. Obama sometimes “lacks fire,” and too often “avoids the battle, complains and misses opportunities.”
