Walton and others say it's offensive that Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office, which has been ordered by a federal judge to stop profiling Latinos, will now send posse members to patrol predominantly African-American churches. Their frustration is also directed at the Reverend Jarrett Maupin, whom they accuse of exploiting the attack in Charleston by calling for more security.
"We will not allow any more lives that are taken in Arizona or the nation to be propagated by these publicity stunts and so we ask you to stop and to stand down," said the Rev. Warren Stewart of the Church of the Remnant in Phoenix.”*
