France has closed its borders and declared a state of emergency Friday after explosions, a shooting and a hostage situation in Paris left at least 140 people dead.
HuffPost France reports that at least one gunman opened fire near a restaurant and bar in the 10th district. Citing police officials, several outlets also reported that as many as 100 were killed at the nearby Bataclan theater, where attackers took hostages. The Associated Press reported at around 1 a.m. local time that police had completed a raid on the theater and at least two assailants had been killed. The attack occurred during a show by the U.S. rock group Eagles of Death Metal.”*
