5:41Now PlayingHillary Clinton was at a town hall event and was asked if she would extend an olive branch to Republicans. Ms. Clinton’s response did not inspire confidence in progressives. Cenk Uygur, host of the The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
"Clinton took a question from a woman who described herself as a longtime supporter who compared the current political divide to the Civil War. “You said, the Republicans as your enemies. That was disheartening,” the woman said to Clinton. “I’m not asking you to retract it. What I am asking you is when you are president, will you please extend the olive branch because we are all Americans?”
While she said that the GOP sometimes views her the same way, Clinton said that she agreed with the woman and proceeded to note her previous efforts for bipartisanship. She said that her contention with conservatives is more present in campaigning than governance, and that she would try to find common ground.”*
