Jan 17, 20161:44Now PlayingOne of the defining features of America is religious liberty. Cenk Uygur, host of the The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
"A new poll on religious freedom shows more people believe it’s important to uphold that freedom when it comes to Christians as opposed to when it concerns Muslims.
The AP-NORC poll finds that 81 percent said upholding religious liberty protections for Christians is important, compared to 61 percent for Muslims, 70 percent for Jews, and 67 percent for Mormons. The number for the religiously unaffiliated was apparently higher than that for Muslims.
And the Christian-Muslim disparity is evident on both sides when you break it down by party. 88 percent of Republicans and 83 percent of Democrats said religious liberty protections were important for Christians, while 60 percent of Republicans and 67 percent of Democrats said the same for Muslims.”*
