13:55Now PlayingTed Cruz recently picked Carly Fiorina to be his Vice Presidential running mate, in the highly unlikely event that he is the Republican nominee. He beamed about how Fiorina makes up songs to sing to his children on the campaign bus, and also corresponds with the Cruz kids regularly via text. Ana Kasparian and John Iadarola, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
"Ted Cruz, despite the fact that he has been basically mathematically eliminated from clinching the nomination through the primary process, decided it was time to unleash a little bullshit sleight of hand to distract from the fact that the party seems to be coalescing around a walking, talking Cheeto that has been lost in your couch cushions for years, Donald J. Trump.
Cruz's bold move? Cruz's plan to excite the base? Cruz's surefire strategy to gain some new followers? Why, by picking Carly "I somehow did worse than Ben Carson, the guy who always seemed like he was sleeping" Fiorina to be his running mate. This would be an exciting day if he were the nominee, but seeing as that won't happen unless a contested convention goes his way, this was not exciting. It was sad and desperate. It's almost like, running a campaign that isn't winning enough states or delegates might not be a way to be elected president. I don't know.
Anyway, Fiorina took the stage and decided that the best way to reintroduce herself to the American people would be to creepily sing to Ted Cruz's children. This is a real thing that happened in reality, and it isn't even the 800th weirdest thing to have happened in this election.”*
