Ro Khanna is a former U.S. Department of Commerce Deputy Secretary under President Obama and now teaches law at the Santa Clara University Law School and economics at Stanford University. He previously ran for the seat in 2014, losing narrowly to incumbent Mike Honda in a race that took three days to officially call.
