"Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump in the ground game for the presidency, according to an early exit poll.
The poll by Politico/Morning Consult found that 17 percent of voters were contacted by the Clinton campaign, but only 8 percent by Trump’s campaign. Nine percent said they heard from both campaigns.
By comparison, 13 percent of voters were contacted by President Obama when he ran for re-election in 2012.
The one issue where voters were in overwhelming agreement — “we just want it to be over.” Eighty-five percent were agreed on that.
Most voters view Clinton as the status-quo candidate in the race, with 69 percent believing she’ll continue Barack Obama’s policies.
And Tuesday’s winner will have a “mandate,” according to 55 percent of the voters.
The online poll surveyed 9,704 early and Election Day voters and was conducted from Oct. 18 to Nov. 8.”*
