Their donors don’t pay them to care about things like that. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"It was a griddle-hot summer day in Washington on Thursday, but for congressional Democrats, it looked a lot like April all over again as they renewed their months-old push to get Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland confirmed.

Much was familiar about the day’s events: an all-hands Capitol rally, frequent deployment of the “do your job” catchphrase, and Garland sitting silently in a wing chair across from a senior Democratic senator as photographers snapped away.

But they were also a reminder that the Democratic push to win Garland’s confirmation in the nearly six months since his nomination has gone nowhere in the face of a united Republican blockade, and that there is little reason to think that will change before the November election.

“This is not healthy,” Vice President Biden said at an afternoon appearance on Capitol Hill under the hot sun with fellow Democrats. “You don’t have to vote yes, but stand and be counted,” he told Republicans.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has repeatedly said that it will be up to the next president — Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton — to nominate the next Supreme Court justice, and he and aides have rejected suggestions that Republicans might confirm Garland in a post-election “lame duck” session.”*
