Billionaires Prepare for the Apocalypse

Wealthy and successful individuals in the techindustry are preparing for the apocalypse. They are building bunkers and amassing vehicles, supplies, firearms, and ammunition. Some have cited concerns over nuclear war or a breakdown of society, but a consistent theme is a fear of a popular backlash against the techindustry as automation and AI eliminate an increasing number of American jobs. There is a genuine fear in the techindustry that so many Americans may be put out of work in the near future that there may be violent reprisals against techindustry employees, innovators, and entrepreneurs, whom they might come to view as responsible for the loss of their livelihoods. While most think such a scenario to be highly unlikely, it clearly presents a serious enough threat that wealthy individuals have judged it worthwhile to invest in their own defense.
