“The nation's top intelligence officials came under withering questioning Wednesday from senators who are demanding they reveal their conversations with President Trump and whether he asked them to roll back the FBI's Russia investigation.
'I'm not interested in repeating myself sir, and I don't mean that in a contentious way,' said NSA Director Mike Rogers, after getting pressed repeatedly by Maine Senator Angus King about whether the president asked him to dial back the FBI probe.
'Well I do mean it in a contentious way!' shot back King (I-Maine). 'I don't understand why you're not answering our question,' he said during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.
Senators wanted to know whether Trump asked top intelligence officials to intervene with the FBI, which is probing Russian election interference and contacts with Trump campaign officials and associates.”
