“At the Wednesday White House ceremony in which Republicans took a victory lap after their tax plan passed in both the House and the Senate, party leaders couldn’t have been more over-the-top in their praise of President Donald Trump. Chuck Todd was perplexed as to why.
Wednesday on MTP: Daily, Todd was shocked at the platitudes lobbed towards Trump so soon after his endorsement of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore set off a major squabble among many in the party.
“We’re a week removed from the president dividing the party disgustingly in half, at times, over Roy Moore,” Todd said. “And yet, the words that were used to describe this president by Republicans were –‘Extraordinary.’ ‘Exquisite.’ ‘A miracle.’ ‘One heck of a leader.'”
The MTP: Daily host added, “Wow. I am surprised how much they all — they didn’t just hug the president. They went all in.”
