"Rep. Ryan Costello (R-PA) appeared on MSNBC for an interview with Katy Tur in which he dished on the difficulties of supporting President Donald Trump as a Republican.
Costello, who backed Trump in 2016 and recently announced he would retire rather than seek reelection in a tough upcoming election, has railed against the current political environment that focuses on Trump scandals over policy.
The Pennsylvania Republican told Tur about the difficulty, in a competitive seat, of catering to both Republican voters — who want Trump to be defended at all costs — and Democrats — who demand answers on the latest presidential controversy.
Tur grilled Costello on why he supported Trump in 2016, given what he knew about his temperament, before asking, “Do you regret that now?””*
