"The war of words between Fox News stalwart Sean Hannity and CNN reporter Jim Acosta continued on Wednesday evening, with Acosta saying Hannity was “peddling lies” after the host accused the journalist of media bias.
Hannity’s comment came after Acosta was heckled by a crowd of Donald Trump supporters chanting “CNN sucks” at a rally in Florida on Tuesday night. Acosta said the incident had left him concerned about the safety of journalists amid the “hostility” whipped up by conservatives.
Hannity responded on his show: “I will be the first person to come to your defense if I’m there and anyone ever dares lay a hand on you. If I was standing there, if I see it happen, I will be the first person to jump in and fight on your behalf. Physical violence is never acceptable to me nor is it acceptable to the conservatives I know and respect.””*
