"Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo dispatched a Democratic primary challenger tonight, advancing to the general election in her hunt for a second term.
Raimondo beat back a challenge on her left by former Secretary of State Matt Brown, who was endorsed by some of the same liberal groups that backed other insurgent candidates across the country in this year’s primaries. The Associated Press called the race with 60 percent of precincts reporting, and Raimondo leading Brown, 56 percent to 34 percent.”
