"Police say the suspected gunman is dead and several others, including a Chicago police officer and at least one hospital employee, are in critical condition following a shooting at a Chicago hospital.
Anthony Guglielmi, a Chicago police spokesman, tweeted officers are doing a methodical search of Mercy Hospital & Medical Center on Chicago's South Side. Guglielmi said the gunman was killed, but it's unclear if he took his own life or was killed by police.
Guglielmi tweeted earlier at least one possible offender had been shot and police were responding to reports of multiple victims. The wounded victims were hospitalized and were undergoing treatment. A spokesman for Mayor Rahm Emanuel said the mayor and Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson are monitoring the situation."
