"A man looking for his girlfriend’s apartment in Atlanta was shot and killed Friday after knocking on the wrong door, according to police.
The victim, identified as 19-year-old Omarian Banks, took a Lyft to the address but was dropped off near the wrong entryway around 12:30 a.m., according to WSB-TV.
Banks was Facetiming with his girlfriend, Zsakeria Mathis, who had just moved to a new apartment, WSB-TV reported. Mathis told the station Banks asked her to open the door and she started to worry when she didn’t hear him knock.
“I just hear faint voices and a gunshot, and then I hear him yell," Mathis told the station. "And I heard all the fear in his voice and he was just, 'I’m sorry! I’m at the wrong door!’”*
