"A Connecticut town is set to pay $100,000 to settle a lawsuit that claims the son of a police officer suffered emotional distress — and claims his parents were forced to pay tuition costs to move the child to another school — after the student's eighth grade class was shown a Kendrick Lamar music video.
A lawsuit filed in 2022 regarding the alleged incident in 2020 argues that an eighth grade social studies teacher at Vernon Center Middle School, showed his class a documentary called "Hip Hop: Songs that Shook America" that featured the Kendrick Lamar song "Alright.""
