Jeremy Corbyn was filmed earlier this month, sitting in the corridor of a Virgin Trains service from London to Newcastle, claiming he could not get a seat on the "ram-packed" train and calling for re-nationalisation. But Virgin today issued a statement - backed by images from CCTV footage - saying that Mr Corbyn had walked past "empty, unreserved seats" before filming his comments. He was eventually shown to a seat by a member of staff.
