We spoke to the people who filmed the explosion, which killed more than 200 people. They include a bride who was having wedding photos taken when the blast happened.
Elsewhere in the city, another woman was giving birth at the local hospital - her baby spent its first hours in a disaster zone. And right near the stash of ammonium nitrate, restaurant staff were knocked over by the pressure.
But this is just the latest crisis for Lebanon - which was already suffering from a financial crash, widespread protests and accusations of political corruption.
Now, many people have blamed this latest disaster on the government, for systemic incompetence and corruption.
