One of over 8 million Ukrainians who fled the country in the first months of the war, she travelled in search of safety with her grandmother.
Since we first met her last March, already on a journey to a new life in Ireland, she has become a globally published author.
Her book, based on a diary she kept from that night a year ago when the bombs started falling on her home in Kharkiv, was championed by the British children's author Michael Morpurgo.
They met in person for the first time this week.
