Concrete scandal expands to hospitals and many other buildings across UK

With some schools scrambling to make contingencies, now hospitals are also in the spotlight over the use of aerated concrete. Scotland is racing to examine its NHS buildings.

And the Labour MP who chairs parliament's public accounts committee has warned that "eye-watering" sums of money are being spent on working round the problem in English hospitals. Dame Meg Hillier said she'd visited one hospital where heavy patients had to be treated on the ground floor.
