Biden crisis: supporters question President’s future as he pledges to continue

"Absolutely not!" That was the emphatic answer from Joe Biden's press secretary in the White House in the last hour, when asked if the president is considering stepping aside as the Democratic candidate.

The crisis surrounding Biden is deepening after his disastrous debate performance last week. He's insisting, for now, that he's staying put.

But even some of his most ardent supporters are now questioning his future in the race - leaving the President calling round Democratic leaders and his campaign team to shore up his support.
