It will become illegal to possess, create or distribute the AI tools, with a punishment of up to five years in prison. Creating manuals on how to use AI to abuse children will also be banned.
The law reforms come after the Internet Watch Foundation found that reports of AI-generated child sexual abuse images rose nearly five-fold last year.
