Europe is warming faster than any other continent with average temperatures up two point four degrees on pre-industrial levels. That's led to a week of fires raging their way across Southern Europe, benefitting from tinderbox conditions.
Now Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Turkey are all battling to contain the spread of flames with thousands of firefighters deployed, hundreds of homes evacuated, and dozens injured.
