Fewer shootings, fewer deaths is considered a policing success story but now, we can reveal that the homicide rate per injury is increasing because more powerful firearms are being smuggled into the country - according to the Metropolitan Police.
All this as the National Police Chiefs Council announced a new amnesty to get more guns off the streets.
