The man, named as Carlos, said he had never heard of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, but he hoped she would be found safe.
It came hours after the FBI released surveillance footage showing a masked man outside Ms Guthrie's home around the time she is thought to have disappeared on Feburary 1st.
