The patient is in isolation and in a stable condition, while authorities are tracing contacts and say the risk to the wider public remains low. The outbreak in Congo has infected more than a thousand people and killed at least 267.
It's being driven by the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola, for which there is currently no approved vaccine.
