It is less than six months to the 2015 general elections and all the political parties are yet to field their parties’ candidates.

While the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed commitment to core democratic principle while the All Progressives Congress said 15 years of misrule and tragic errors of the PDP is a strong ground for APC's campaign

In spite of the release of the 2015 general election timetable by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), none of the political parties is yet to present its candidates leaving bookmakers with mere speculations of the likely candidates the election slated for February 2014.

As the waiting game goes on is this something rather unusual?

To set the records straight, Channels Television goes one on one with Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure , the National Vice Chairman north central of the PDP .

He says that the fact that the PDP is yet to present its presidential candidate is an eloquent testimony that the party is committed to core democratic values.

Ambassador Kazuare added that the PDP is one big family and that could be responsible for the long drawn and extensive considerations in picking its presidential candidate.

For the All Progressives Congress, the National Convention held recently ended months of speculation and fears of lack of national structure.

The emergence of John Oyegun as the APC National Chairman has also had some far reaching effect with some members not satisfied with the outcome of the elections.

This has raised anxiety of some major leaders of the APC returning to their tents.

Bookmakers have pointed out that fielding a candidate for the APC may be another factor capable of disintegrating the party.

But the APC chairman John Oyegun says the 15 years of misrule and tragic errors of the PDP make 2015 campaign a lot easier for the APC.

Recently, we had reports of some PDP governors advising President Goodluck Jonathan not to declare yet for the 2015 presidential race.

The political adviser to the President, Professor Rufai Alkali, spoke on the news making the rounds of the President being under pressure not to declare yet for the presidential ticket.
