The demand was made at a training session on Tuesday organised for health workers and stakeholders in the sector on how to manage the Ebola Virus Disease without being infected with the virus.
Medical health workers are mostly at risk of contracting the virus.
Statistics revealed that since the outbreak of the disease early this year, over 240 health workers have contracted the virus in West Africa.
In Nigeria, out of the six deaths recorded, three were healthcare workers.
Members of the medical association have stressed the need for insurance and better legislature, just as the national association of Nurses and Midwives threaten industrial action.
