While giving his opinion on Friday on the achievements made so far in the health sector in the last few years, the South-west Director, Department For International Development (DFID), Mr Sina Fagbenro-Byron, said that the health delivery system had not been operated as a system.
"If it is systemic, then the parts that are working within the system will be integrating with each other. It is a system and here the elements are not working in synergy. They are not combining.
"What needs to be done is that we have to take health out of politics and take politics out of health.
"The hospitals used to be run by professional health facility managers. But now they are managed by doctors who do not know so much about management.
