It was four days of debate and discussions on Issues such as Ebola Outbreak, gender inequality, security and terrorism.
The member countries canvassed elimination of violence and harmful practices against women and sought more representation of women in parliaments across the world.
about 744 Parliamentarians from 101 countries attended the event.
Six out of every ten women are victims of all types of violence. One out of five women are victims of rapes.
Five per cent of women killed are murdered by their intimate partners.
The statistics were given by the President of the IPU, Abdul Wahad Radi at the assembly meeting.

On the Ebola outbreak the IPU Secretary General, Martin Chungong, said "a strong message has to go out saying that there is the political will to fight Ebola.
"The authorities at the highest levels of the world, including parliamentarians have a stake in this. I have said that we want to see a strong message coming in that we need a strong legislative framework in each country to contain Ebola. The parliament should be able to open the purses of the government to make sure that more resources go into fighting the scourge because if it is not contained it will spread like wildfire and other society will suffer.
They further warned that restricting the movement of persons from one country to another was not the solution.
