9:30Now PlayingLawmakers in Nigeria have described the 2015 budget of 4.3 trillion Naira as a deficit budget which was grossly exaggerated.
It has passed its second reading in the floor of the National Assembly, with some lawmakers expressing concerns that in the fate of the declining oil prices, the country may not be able to finance its capital and recurrent expenditure.
A lawyer and activist, Eze Onyekpere, analysed the areas of concern raised by the lawmakers, saying that the parameters underlying the budget says a lot about the credibility.
He suggested that the benchmark of $65 should be brought down to reflect the current realities in the oil market.
