The rule stipulates that insurance funds should not be invested offshore and no insurer must invest its funds in parent companies or derivatives without obtaining approval from the commission.
The Director, Nigeria Insurance Association, Olorundare Thomas, looks at the rules and other developing issues in the insurance industry.
He said that there had been quite a difficult part of the year, with regards to operations, which had been affected by some policy shifts.
