8:33Now PlayingThis week, Diplomatic Channel reviews the just concluded nuclear security summit that held in the US capital, Washington DC.
Over 50 world leaders attended the summit, including President Muhammadu Buhari.
The President has expressed his desire to see Nigeria explore nuclear development for energy purposes only and expressed that desire at the meeting.
He also held bi-lateral talks with the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, on the US-Nigeria Bi-lateral Commission.
Though no new agreements were signed, both of them got talking on the improvement of security in Nigeria, the progress made in stamping out Boko Haram from the northeast, education, health care, as well as the economy.
No doubt, the present situation has worried the United States, which believes current economic policies would hamper investor confident. But, President Buhari and his administration, believe, it is better to tackle the problem from the root.
It may seem hard now, but they are assuring Nigerians of better days ahead.
