5:11Now PlayingThis sculptural piece of a man armed with his trumpet shows how much skill and precision any work of art ought to possess, it’s no mistake that it’s been placed beside the banner headlining what the event is all about.
In a world where artists sometimes take the easy street in creating their pieces.
The organisers say it’s time to encourage those who take the time and pain to do the right thing.
Sinmidele Adesanya, Director Mydrim Gallery, the first thing she says
So it’s the beginning of a new chapter for these contemporary artists who have been picked to be part of this show called generations, the future masters series, from the title one can tell that for them to be here, there must be something about their works of art that makes them stand out.
Different issues drive the artists, they take the audience on a ride back in time where little things like the architecture, music and the culture are not taken for granted
The work process varies for each artist, for some it’s the colors while for others, it’s about creating something figurative
One factor that binds these artists together is that they all have something that has potential written on it and that’s what the curator, Abiodun Olaku who is a full-time studio artist was looking for, he is no stranger to the exhibiting artists most of them struck a chord with him while watching them grow.
This idea of displaying skillful young artists is to nurture talent and not just those who are not stepping up to the plate.
The organisers believe that these works of art present a good value which has its future rewards
