China has the largest solar energy capacity in the world. This was achievable through subsidies provided by the government.
India had an initial target of 20 thousand megawatts four years ago ahead of the schedule for 2018. Now, the country's solar power capacity has reached 28 thousand megawatts.
And South Africa has committed to an energy generation infrastructure development plan which aims to get 9,600 megawatts of solar power capacity by 2030.
