YouTube Description
as posted by the channelSierra-Leone has one of the world's highest maternal mortality rates but a new drone initiative is helping to change the narrative.
About 1,200 women in the country die yearly in 100,000 births. These deaths are often due to preventable blood loss.
The drones are modified to carry medical supplies to remote areas which could otherwise take medical workers hours to reach, saving women in labour and babies at birth .
The initiative is managed by UNICEF.
