Boma Alabi was the first woman president in the over 50-year history of the association of lawyers from 54 countries.
She has over 30years of experience in corporate commercial practice and is passionate about judicial reforms as well as replicating global standards here in Nigeria.
In our chat, Boma talks about the just-concluded NBA elections, she identifies key issues the incoming NBA leadership should tackle and makes a case for better funding for the judiciary so that it can deliver justice better.
She also weighed in on the controversial issue of lawyers asking the judges not to go on vacation especially after the lockdown and closure of courts as part of measures to contain the spread of the Coronavirus.
Also, the just concluded 2020 NBA Elections was also treated.
Almost 29,000 lawyers were verified to vote but slightly over 18,000 took part in the elections which held from 11pm of Wednesday the 29th of July to 11pm on Thursday the 30th.
At the end of which emerged a president-elect and other national officers who will steer the ship of the Nigerian Bar Association for the next two years.
