8:56Now PlayingIt has been about two months since federal authorities in Nigeria partially closed the Third Mainland Bridge for routine repairs and maintenance work.
Since then, commuters within the Lagos metropolis have had to spend long hours in gridlocks to move from the Mainland to the Island and vice versa. So, what has been the impact of this partial closure on people and their businesses? How good are the alternative routes suggested by authorities?
What is being done to ameliorate the suffering of people who spend endless hours to get home?TreatmentThe story will be reporter led with contributors sharing their first-hand experience of driving from work home and commuting by commercial buses/taxis.
We would also follow contributors on a drive to ascertain the number of hours spent now compared to what used to be the situation before. In addition, we would present our findings to the road work authorities as we hold the lead officer to account for what is being done to improve the situation.
