2:01Now PlayingAs attacks from armed groups against schools and abduction of students have been increasing in the last months in the Country, The Deputy President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Najim Yasin has called on the Federal Government to equip the security agencies with sophisticated war hardware to enable them to win the war against insecurity in the Country.
He made the call at an event in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital where he said the bandits have more sophisticated weapons than the security operatives.
He stressed the need for Nigerians to see the ongoing war against insecurity as everyone's responsibility and not that of the government alone, hence they should expose the criminals in their communities to security agents.
Yasin observed that the criminals' elements live in the midst of people in their communities and the people should volunteer credible intelligence to Security agents to eliminate them so that the country can enjoy peace.
He explained that if the government plays its role of providing adequate modern war hardware to Security agents and the people assist security operatives with vital information that will lead them to the criminals' hideouts, the country can defeat the insurgency banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other crimes.
